DESIGNING WITH JEN

While working with her Mom for 10 years learning how to adjust sizes and patterns, Jen gained the confidence and skills to start her own line. She didn’t start out in London or New York, her first design was created at home! Her unique signature consists of mixing buttons, pockets, and bows with a kiss of urban street fashion. I love this line because it is so different and it delivers a feeling of fashion exclusiveness. You feel as though each garment was made just for you! With her love for design and sewing she has quickly emerged as one of the most influential designers of the season!

THE BONEYARDS PROJECT

The Boneyards Project is one of the most anticipated collaborations of the summer. Nike's Fraser Cooke teams up with Paul Mittleman of Stussy, and Shinsuke Takizawa of Neighborhood. The crazy graphics display a lifestyle of bikers, punk, surf, and skateboard. This design will be available in 3 colors black, red, and blue. Stay on the lookout for this impressive design in the coming months.

KANYE'S DEBUT

Kanye West is expected to launch his first clothing line labeled PASTELLE this upcoming fall. Honestly,I cant wait!!! I think this man is a fashion genius! With his weird sunglasses and colorful scarves in 90 degree weather, this guy cant be stopped. He gave outsiders a sneak peak during Fashion Week in Paris. Stay tuned for more sneak peaks and news on Kanye's debut!

CUT OFFS!

We can thank Madonna for introducing these back in the 1980's. I love this retro look! You can pair them with a rock tee and some skinny jeans or with your party dress for a little spice! I was scheduled to attend a Black and White Affair last month and I almost went crazy because I couldn't find a pair of these gloves. Unfortunately, I had to rock my cocktail dress without it. This trend has been on the scene for about 6 months now. I am so happy to say that it will be here for a few more months(I pray until winter). Return of the Shoulder Pads??

Yes Fashionistas!!! It has returned!! Honestly, I cant believe it. This is one trend that deserves to be kept hidden far far away for the rest of eternity. According to Instyle magazine, this is the hottest trend going right now. Many stars like Anne Hathaway and Salma Hayek (instyle.com) have embraced this fashion disaster, while some have decided to sit this one out ( including me). Maybe I am overreacting. I guess if I could find one Fashion goddess who can actually pull it off, I might consider changing my attitude. Until then........you be the judge!

THE BEAUTY OF ESSENCE
